Abstract:
The scientific studies on tourism are relatively recent compared to other fields of knowledge. It notorious, however, that more and more researchers has devoted efforts to understand this sociospatial phenomenon, which can be analyzed from several perspectives, including the geographic focus, that will highlighted in this work.
Accordingly, geography can provide contributions theoretical-conceptual to research whose object of study is tourism.
As the tourism hasn't method of investigation and hasn't constituted research object, Tribe (2004) signals the need to resort to sciences already consolidated, and understand that tourism is intrinsically linked to geographical science, because, the tourist activity influences in the organization of space and the landscape is an important motivator for the realization of tourist flows (LOHMANN; PANOSSO NETTO, 2012), the geography of tourism is emerging as relevant way to analyze the field of tourism knowledge.
So, the objective is make theoretical notes to consolidate the field through readings the researchers of geography of tourism.
